I was raised by hippies and read a lot of science fiction while growing up in California. I’ve always had a belief that I need to be prepared for the following:

• The Nuclear Apocalypse
• The Worker Revolution

Over the years my supplies and plans have varied, but two things have remained constant for over 20 years:

• I keep a pair of walking shoes and socks at my office.
• I carry a P-38 military can opener on my key chain.
